  Roman Silver Tetradrachm. NERO & CLAUDIUS.

AR tetradrachm (26 mm) Traditionally attributed to Caesarea 
in Cappadocia, RPC reattributes it to an uncertain mint in 
Syria. It was an exceptional issue, because the eastern 
tetradrachms normally bear Greek legends. 
Struck 63-68 AD. RPC 4122; 
Sydenham 64; Sear GIC 640 var. Seaby, RSC 2a 
     Obv. NERO CLAVD. DIVI CLAVD. F. CAESAR AVG. GER. Laureate head of
     Nero right, ivy leaf behind head above wreath knot.

     Rev. DIVOS CLAVD. AVG. GERMANIC. PATER AVG. Laureate head of Claudius
     right.
