Obv: NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER PM TR P IMP PP, bare head left with globe at the point of the neck. Countermark 
SPQR in rectangular incuse on neck.
Rev: Altar enclosure with ornamented top, decorated front 
panels and central double doors, S-C across fields, ARA 
PACIS in exergue.

Martini Pangerl 27, related to the Vindex uprising. By the 
use of this countermark Vindex was repudiating his 
allegiance to Nero, calling upon both the senate and people 
of Rome to name a worthy replacement as Emperor.
