Obv: IVLIA AVGVSTA Bust draped right. 
Rx: MATER DEVM Cybele seated left between two lions, resting 
elbow on drum and holding branch and sceptre.

An overweight specimen, apparently unique: the only aureus 
known for Julia's second use of this MATER DEVM reverse 
type, with sceptre under Cybele's left arm. 
This type is common on denarii, rare on middle bronzes, 
unknown on sestertii, and unique on this aureus. The same 
type but without the sceptre was struck earlier in 195 AD: 
it is common on denarii, sestertii, and middle bronzes, and 
rare on aurei, e.g. BM 50 plate 28.6. Cohen 122 describes 
the aureus of this type with sceptre, but perhaps in error, 
as he cites the BM coin which omits the sceptre. An earlier issue of this coin showed Cybele without a sceptre.
