Gallienus AE35 of Trapezopolis, Caria. AD 253-268. Magistrate Valerius. AY K P LIK GALLIHNOC, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. EPI G R BALERIOY TRA-PEZOP-OLEI-TWN around and in fields, Kybele standing facing, hands outwards over two lions seated at her sides. Unpublished for Gallienus. Leu 4, 516. With permission of Leu Numismatik AG - Web Auction 4, Lot 516, June 2018. This is a peculiar coin, as the bust does not resemble other Gallienus coins of Carian mints, and - according to sources - minting in Trapezopolis apparently ended at the end of Severan rule. In addition, the magistrate "Valerius" is not listed in Leschhorn or any other lists of magistrates for this period.
