     Grade: VF w/a touch of hornsilver around edges; well-defined and
     centered rev. Scarce and important.
     This coin commemorates the Ludi Saeculares--held every 100 or 110
     years to commemorate the passing of an age, and to purify Rome
     and the Romans--held in 88, at which the author Tacitus
     officiated and for which the poet Statius wrote a sacred hymn.
     The herald, dressed in archaic armor and helmet, announced the
     rituals to the populace at large. A VERY INTERESTING TYPE!!!
