     P F AVG Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right, with the
     facial features of Vetranio. / VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM Victory
     advancing left, holding wreath and trophy, SIS in exergue. RIC
     266. Lustrous EF, nice flan.

     This rare siliqua was struck at the mint of Siscia during the
     period it was controlled by the general Vetranio. Though the
     inscription names Constantius II, the emperor to whom this
     general remained loyal against the Gallic usurper Magnentius, the
     facial features are those of Vetranio himself. This same features
     can be recognized on the more common silver washed bronze coins
     of the same issue. Thus, here is an opportunity to acquire a
     silver coin of Vetranio at an small fraction of the price of one
     of the same mint and same issue period which bears his name.
