Roman Minerva Type AR Denarius of COMMODUS

     This piece was minted between 190 and 191 AD, during the reign of
     Commodus, who ruled from 177-192 AD. The obverse of this type
     depicts the laureate head of Commodus facing right, with legends
     M.COMM.ANT.P.FEL.AVG.BRIT.P.P. The reverse features Minerva
     running right, head left, holding branch, round shield, and
     spear. The legends read MINER.AVG.P.M.TR.P.XVI.
