SELEUCID KINGDOM. Seleucus I Nicator. (312-281 BC). Silver 
tetradrachm (17.18 gm). Uncertain mint in western Asia 
Minor, 282/1 BC. 
Head of young Herakles right in lion skin headdress.
BASILEWS SELEUKOU, Zeus seated left, holding Nike and sceptre, 
monogram in left field, monogram in right field. 
Cf. SC 74, pl. 4 (same obverse die). SC II Addenda to Part 1, Ad51 (this coin). 

SC 74, based on a single coin without the royal title, 
restores the title in the exergue, probably incorrectly. 
Most likely that coin originally had the same placement of 
the legend as our coin, with the royal title vertically in the left field.
