Pamphylia, Uncertain Southern mint AR Stater. 380-333 BC. 

Obv: Athena Nikephoros standing left, holding Nike and 
resting hand on shield, spear under left arm; coiled 
serpent at feet to left, Pamphylian script to right.
Rev: Apollo standing left wearing chiton and chlamys, 
quiver over shoulder, holding staff with shoot near bottom, 
sacrificing from phiale over altar to left. Pamphylian
legend to right.

Very Rare; unpublished type. Extremely Fine, beautifully 
toned. Probably the finest example known.

Although similar issues were struck at Side and Holmoi, 
an attribution to either city is unlikely because the 
Side issues usually show the city emblem, a pomegranate, 
(except for Atlan Side 155= Boston 2104; Perkins Collection 543)
in the obverse left field, and the Holmoi issues all 
have a dolphin in the obverse left field. Atlan dates 
the inscribed issues at Side to 370-333 BC and 
Casabonne dates those of Holmoi to 380-375 BC.
