RARE barbarous bronze of Bar Kochba, apparently struck at a 
second Bar Kochba mint, probably traveling with the troops. 
This coin was perforated in ancient times. Meshorer observes 
that usually this phenomenon occurs with the Bar Kochba 
denarii. After the war, Jews perforated these coins for use 
as jewelry, tokens of rememberance of the fight for Jewish 
independence.. 
Bar Kochba, 132-135 AD, irregular (barbarous) middle bronze of 23.5 
mm, 7.85 grams. This coin was struck 134/35 AD.
Obverse: Seven-branched palm tree.
Reverse: Vine leaf on tendril.
