Temnus?, Aeolis. AE10. 3rd century BC. 1.1 g. Obv: Youthful male head right, wearing helmet or pileus. Rev: TAM beneath lion crouching left, preparing to spring. Imhoof (Uncertain mints), KM 2 var (position of legend); Gitbud & Naumann HA1671. Imhoof, after rejecting Tamase, Tamynai, Tamyrake and Tamasos as the possible sources for this coin, suggests that this coin and a similar, AR version, could be from Temnus. In addition Temnus used the legend TAMITAN on some of their early coinage. With permission of Gitbud & Naumann, Oct. 2015.
