ANDRONIKOC DECPOTHC, IC XC at upper right, full-length figure of emperor on left, holding labarum-headed sceptre and cross on globe, crowned by Christ bearded and nimbate, holding book of gospels in left hand. Emperor's jewelled loros has two jewels between the waist and collar-piece. IC XC (all overscored) in upper right field. Sear 1985; Dumbarton Oaks Collection 3a. Note: height of Mary on obverse = 18mm. Note: DO 3a has 2 jewels on the loros between the waist and collar-piece. DO 3b has 3 jewels on the loros between the waist and collar-piece.
